Campo Felice: 38 km of Slopes on the Altopiano delle Rocche
24 trails, 15 lifts, vertical drops over 600 m: the ski resort most loved by Romans in the Parco Sirente-Velino

Campo Felice is one of Abruzzo's most popular ski resorts and among the most beloved by Romans for its easy access (1h30 from Rome via the A24). Located on the Altopiano delle Rocche in the municipality of Rocca di Cambio (AQ), in the heart of the Parco Naturale Regionale Sirente-Velino, it offers 38–40 km of slopes across 24 trails served by 15 ski lifts. Elevations range from 1,400 m (base lodge) up to 2,064 m, with vertical drops exceeding 600 meters — making it ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers. A snowpark, a wide variety of trails for all levels, excellent exposure, and moderate winds make it a favorite among experienced skiers from central Italy. It's part of the Skipass Due Nevi circuit (with Gran Sasso/Campo Imperatore) and the Tre Nevi/Dei Parchi circuit (with Campo Imperatore and Ovindoli-Monte Magnola).
Where Campo Felice Is Located
Campo Felice is the ski resort of the municipality of Rocca di Cambio (AQ), the highest municipality in the Apennines at 1,434 m altitude, in the province of L'Aquila. The base lodge sits at around 1,400 m, in an open valley on the Altopiano delle Rocche, within the Parco Naturale Regionale Sirente-Velino. Distances: 30 km from L'Aquila (35 min), 130 km from Rome (1h30 via the A24), 130 km from Pescara (1h45), 60 km from Avezzano (50 min). The resort borders the Tornimparte (AQ) side of the mountain.

The Altopiano delle Rocche and Its Three Villages
Campo Felice is part of the "Altopiano delle Rocche ski system", a tectonic basin surrounded by the massifs of Velino (2,487 m) and Sirente (2,349 m). Three borghi sit on the plateau:
Rocca di Cambio (1,434 m): the municipality of Campo Felice, the highest in the Apennines
Rocca di Mezzo (1,329 m): the "center" of the plateau
Ovindoli (1,375 m): home to the Monte Magnola resort, 20 km from Campo Felice
Three ski resorts within the same natural area, just a few kilometers apart.

The Ski Area
Campo Felice has been completely renewed over the past 15 years, with significant investment in lifts, snowmaking, a snowpark, and visitor services.
Lifts
15 ski lifts serve the resort:
Seggiovia Cisterna: the main chairlift, reaching 2,064 m
Seggiovia Cento Fonti: serving the central part of the resort
Seggiovia Fonte della Moscia: for the more technical runs
Seggiovia Brecciara: at altitude
Surface lifts and T-bars
Magic carpets for beginners and children
Slopes: 38–40 km across 24 Trails
Campo Felice's runs are among the most varied and challenging in the Apennines:
Blue runs: ski school area and easy slopes (Cisterna bassa, Cento Fonti)
Red runs: the majority, with significant length and meaningful vertical drop
Black runs: demanding trails from Monte Cefalone
What makes these slopes special:
Vertical drops over 600 meters: among the greatest in the Apennines, enabling long, uninterrupted descents
Varied aspects: some faces stay in shade until late in the day, keeping snow compact and firm
Snowmaking: most runs are covered by artificial snow systems
Wide trails: spacious runs even on the busiest weekends
Snowpark
The Campo Felice Snowpark is one of the most popular in the Apennines, featuring modular jumps, rails, a half-pipe, and a boardercross. Perfect for snowboarders, free-skiers, and freestylers of all levels.
Ski Passes: Due Nevi and Tre Nevi
Campo Felice is part of two ski pass circuits:
Skipass Due Nevi
Valid for Campo Felice + Gran Sasso (Campo Imperatore). It lets you ski Campo Felice and then head up to Campo Imperatore by cable car for high-altitude skiing. Distance between the two resorts: 60 km (about 1 hour by car).
Skipass Tre Nevi (Dei Parchi)
Valid for Campo Felice + Campo Imperatore + Ovindoli-Monte Magnola. Available in multi-day and season formats. Perfect if you're spending a week in the area and want to explore different resorts.
