Stravagando is the Italian platform for travelers who want to discover authentic places, book local experiences, and share their journey with an active community of travelers, hosts, and creators.
Three integrated tools in one ecosystem: a marketplace of verified experiences, an interactive map with thousands of places of interest, and a social community where you can share photos, itineraries, and discoveries. We start from Italy, with the ambition to grow beyond borders.
Our mission
We believe the future of travel is not made of standardized packages, but of real encounters between travelers and places. We want to build a platform that:
makes the Italy of people and crafts — not just monuments — accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world;
gives small local operators — guides, artisans, restaurateurs, farmers — a professional digital sales channel, without having to depend on global platforms;
turns every trip into a story to build, share, and revisit over time, through a community and a map that grow together.
What Stravagando is
Three connected systems, designed to work together.
1. Experiences marketplace
A curated catalog of local experiences bookable online, divided into 6 categories (food & wine, outdoor & nature, culture & crafts, sea & coast, agri-experiences, wellness) and over 40 specific sub-categories. Every experience is verified, every host is selected for quality and authenticity.
Travelers book online, pay securely with Stripe, and receive immediate confirmation or within 24 hours. Hosts manage their calendar and availability through a professional dashboard, receive automatic payments via Stripe Connect, and get support for invoicing, fraud prevention, and marketing.
2. The collaborative map
An interactive map with thousands of places of interest: villages, monuments, nature reserves, trails, geosites, scenic viewpoints, hidden gems. For every place: description, photos, directions, things to do nearby, bookable experiences, and contributions from the community.
With the map, every user can:
explore by area, type, or season;
build custom itineraries step by step;
save places to favorites for a future trip;
discover lesser-known places thanks to other users' contributions.
3. Social community
Stravagando is also an active community. Every user can:
publish posts and photos of the places they visit;
check in to places during their trip;
follow other travelers, hosts, and creators;
collect achievements and badges as their experience grows;
discover places and itineraries through the eyes of those who have actually been there.
The more you explore, the more you share, the more you unlock. The trip doesn't end when you return home: it continues in the community, and becomes inspiration for other travelers.

The entire platform is available in 5 languages — Italian, English, French, German, Spanish — including all editorial content from the blog and the place pages. Built from day one to welcome travelers from across Europe and around the world.

Starting from Abruzzo
Stravagando has chosen Abruzzo as its first launch region: a territory with three national parks, a unique Adriatic coast, medieval villages, and living traditions — the perfect testing ground to refine a model we then want to extend to the rest of Italy.
Once the model is solid, we scale: new regions, new territories, new hosts. The ambition is to become the European reference point for authentic experiential travel.
